IVth Organic Meeting and IVth Organic Producers Fair of Latin America and the Caribbean

We are pleased to announce the IVth Organic Meeting of Latin America and the Caribbean
and the IVth Organic Producers Fair of Latin America and the Caribbean. Both events will be held in the Hotel Decameron, Salinitas, El Salvador www.decameron.com, from October 12 to 16, 2009.

The IVth Organic Meeting of Latin America and Caribbean (from October 12 to 16, 2009) provides you with an opportunity to find out more about organic production, participatory research, institutional studies on organic agriculture, company activities, initiatives in organic marketing, and about running projects and developing programs in Latin America and the Caribbean with a focus on organic agriculture and fair trade. It is also your chance to share experiences with organic farmers
themselves. The topics covered during the event are:

1. Organic agriculture and organic animal production
2. Organic aquaculture
3. Organic regulations and organic certification systems, such as third party certification and participatory
guarantee systems
4. Expanding local and international markets, commercialization of organic and fair trade products
5. Processing and quality standards for organic and fair trade products
6. Contribution of organic agriculture to biodiversity, natural resource conservation and climate change mitigation
7. Women’s experiences of production, processing and commercialization of organic and fair trade products
8. Community organization and association initiatives for the production of organic and fair trade products
9. Agro-ecotourism
In addition, there will be a day-long field trip to visit and exchange information and experiences with El Salvadoran organic producers.

The IVth Organic Producers Fair of Latin America and the Caribbean (from October 14 to 16) offers you an excellent platform to discover and meet new suppliers of organic and fair trade products from Latin America. An exhibition and business round table for organic and fair trade products will be organized for this purpose. The fair also offers a forum for exhibiting products,
